~ Chalk Paint on Fabric ~

Look at this sweet French chair that a friend of mine
asked me if I could paint the fabric with Chalk Paint®
decorative paint by Annie Sloan....
Well heck yeah!

So this is the before fabric.

I spritzed the fabric with a little water before painting.
Then lightly applied the paint in a circular motion.

This is what the fabric looks like after painting with Versailles.

The paint accented the texture in the fabric
and it remained soft and supple.

Give this a try!
It was quick and easy and we love the look...hope you do too!

  9. Hi Karla! I am wondering what happens when you sit on the painted fabric? Do you seal it with anything?

  10. I did not seal the fabric with anything and it took only one coat to cover the fabric. The paint cured in about 4-5 days and will not chalk off on your clothes.

  11. Hi Karla... I accidentally gave the upholsterer the WRONG FABRIC!! GASP!! and now my beautiful carved wood antique sofa is beautifully covered in a yellowish canvas. obviously I can't ask him to recover it, and I'm not paying to have it recovered, so I was thinking of painting it. I've used chalk paint on fabric several times and once its been washed, I love it. But I can't wash my sofa! Any suggestions?

  12. Do you use the paint full strength on the fabric or cut it with water and to what ratio do you add water, if so?
