~ The White Knight Strikes Again ~

The dining room table before the Knights arrival...
This poor table has a few coats of paint and glaze on it.  First I thought maybe a white oil base glaze would look good but it wasn't white enough for me.  Next I painted it with Creamy white latex paint....

I liked the Creamy white....sanded...
Glazed with a latex light tan and love the results.  I used an oil based glaze and a latex based glaze on this table.  This caused the paint to flake a bit but I like the chippy look!

~ Junking in Austin ~

Mr. Sweetie and I went to Austin to check on my teacher retirement.  While we were there we couldn't pass up the opportunity to do some junkin' at Uncommon Objects on South Congress.  Some of our finds will be will be posted shortly.

~ Cabinet Top Redo ~

This piece was finished in a very ugly brown stain with black flecks.  I primed and painted with Palladian blue. Decoupaged the inside with my Grandmother's sheet music.  Now hanging this very heavy shelf on the wall was another matter.

~ Old Leaded Window Front Door ~

What a great find for us...the diamond shape window in the door matches the sidelight window shape.  Love the old hardware with the lower lock.  Now I need to build the other leaded sidelight window when the weather warms.

~ Thrift Store Find ~

The chairs cried out to me at the thrift store and of course I painted them white.

~ English Kitchen Cabinet Goes White ~

We really like the white cabinet versus the stained look.  This was a time consuming project...one coat of oil base primer and two coats of paint.  Plus the doors slide on wood glides not metal ones and as I painted the glides the doors would not slide properly.  So I took off the doors, sanded the glides and put the doors back on.  I will need to touch up where the paint chipped.  We love it!!!  See more in the Before & After section.

Chip holder holds many family photos.

~ English Kitchen Cabinet Goes White ~

Does one ever paint an oak piece of furniture? I hope the furniture police doesn't come get me since I'm painting this piece. I will show you the white transformed piece when it is through in a couple of days. I think it looks much fresher and younger.

~ Metal in the Kitchen ~

Perfect combination of textures and surfaces in this kitchen.

~ Laundry Room Cabinet ~

Mr. Sweetie installed an old cabinet we found at a garage sale for a mere $60.00.  I decoupaged the back with an old recipe book of my grandmothers.

~ Tablecloth Window Treatments ~

Really had a hard time publishing this post...is anyone else having problems posting multiple pics?  Anyway...I used tablecloths as window treatments in our living room.  This helped to lighten the room.
