My Lady Butterbug Garden became a party haven at the
McKinney Garden & Home Tour.
I decorated a few party areas in the backyard for the tour.
There was a bear ice cream party by the garage door.
A red and blue theme backyard picnic on the gravel patio.
And a teacup umbrella party on the brick patio.
The squirrels and birds {maybe a Texas armadillo too} were my guests:)
Getting my garden and home ready for the McKinney Garden & Home Tour
was a challenge for me with owning and running
my Lady Butterbug Shoppe

I love a good challenge and I am the queen of projects!!!
One of the major projects was reconstructing my dilapidated termite
infested freestanding garage.
This is a picture of the completed fancy scalloped walled garage
and the gravel patio beside the garage.
This patio is where I sit at night and read until dark.
One night while reading an armadillo was walking on top of the
wire fencing behind the garage. I decided it was time to go into the house:)
The patio area decorated as a red and blue picnic area for the garden tour.
The oak-leaf hydrangeas are blooming behind the chairs.
The quilt I made several years ago when I quilted like a mad woman!
The fan blade on the wall painted in color Provence...Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®...
is a commercial air conditioning blade.
I am a lover of Dr. Pepper. Now don't scold me about drinking my favorite beverage
of choice...my daughter does enough of that:)
The Dr. Pepper sign was given to me by a friend...I'm talking male friend!!!
The vintage glider and chairs are painted in color Provence...Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®.

This farmhouse zinc top table and vintage metal chairs is located
on the backyard brick patio behind the garage.
My friend, Lona, suggested I decorate the table top and patio area with mirrors
and vintage architectural pieces. Lona is brilliant at decorating!!!
Lona brought me two vintage mirrors from her collection
and I painted them {with her permission of course} Pure White...
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®.
The white metal urn holding the asparagus fern is also painted in Pure White Annie Sloan.
I layered the wood frame with the vintage mirror on top...added the plants...and vintage metal
roof topper and added a few crystal pieces.
The column wall is constructed using old columns that came off
my neighbor's 1860 porch when he was replacing the columns
with new ones. Nothing is wasted around here!!!
The blue door was given to me by a friend, Fredda Perkins.
